MICHELLE HANTON OAM, MAICD
Michelle is a multi award winning business visionary who works across Australia. She is the recipient of several awards, including 2003 Avon Sprit of Achievement, 2004 Telstra NT Business Woman of the Year, 2001 Chief Ministers Women’s Achievement Award. In June 2008 in the Queens Birthday Honours list Michelle received an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) for her services to women’s health and in particular for her work founding Dragons Abreast.
Michelle’s career has included working in the world of private banks in London, as an ambulance office in the Northern Territory and moving on to own and establish her own businesses in retail and exporting to the UK, USA, France and Middle East as well as extensive and varied contract work within both government and private enterprise.
Michelle has featured on the ABC’s Australian Story “In the Pink”, penned numerous articles, is a sought after guest speaker and mentor.
With exceptional and proven business acumen, excellent communication skills, and an established track record for innovative solutions, Michelle thrives on working with clients to achieve their fullest potential.
Michelle has extensive experience in developing events and business positioning ‘from the ground up’ and is also the Founder of Dragons Abreast Australia, a registered charity that promotes breast cancer awareness and education, primarily but not exclusive through the sport of dragon boat racing.
Home is the tropical and relaxed city of Darwin where she lives with her two children (aged 26 and 17). Her entire life has involved cross-cultural environments and she is comfortable with people from all walks of life.
